3x1 socks

Another finished WIP  my sons socks.

He now has 2 pair, they fit to perfection, which is bad for a growing child. In my opinion anyways. I am getting better at sock construction, but I had wished that I had made them bigger. Also the short row heel just isn’t a good enough heel, I like how the flap heel is more fitted in the heel area.

I have heard and seen of the tomato heel, I don’t know if I would like that one but the construction is a series of wedges, that flow around the heel. Maybe another son sock is in order to see if I like that heel. So far the Heel Flap has won me over. Though it is not conducive for toe-up construction.

Just now he is starting to grow into the first pair I made.  I made bigger, it has lots of ribbing and I made the foot a little longer, perfect for a growing child.

I am thinking my next pair for him is going to be tube socks, with extra elastic. That way his heel will always be where it needs to be.
