The Bar Of: Knits

Second Knitting Machine: Passap Knitting machine (in transit)

Passap Duo80A Passap Knitting machine about to be added for my second machine.

Hardly a surprise but I adore my knitting machine so much that I decided that instead of getting a ribber and the attachments that would fit with my first. I have decided that I am going to keep it a basic flat bed. So I am looking for a bit of an upgrade. A Passap Duomatic 80, considered the Mercedes of knitting machines.

I am in the process of talking to a lovely lady about a Passap Duomatic 80 that she has a spare of. In fact the both of us have discovered a new friend. Don’t you just love it when that happens.

I have discovered that the Passap community is just as friendly as the show horse community. What a lovely thing to have found out, personally speaking of course.

So fairly soon I will be adding that to my knitting endeavors. I will still be hand knitting, as I enjoy that greatly. Though it will be so nice to be able to make larger items now.

The agony is always waiting, Since my son I have to admit my patience has grown. Having said that, I want my machine Now, please ;). As I type it is on its way over. It has the tuesday arrive date, but I am well aware of fedex, and their habits of not living up to their shipping bargain.

So the Tuesday delivery is not guaranteed, even though it is being shipped 2nd day. In fact it is sunday, and it is in Vegas. Here is how efficient they are in vegas. My package is sitting at their sorting station, which is near the airport,  it then will be traveling to henderson where their main office is, before sending it to the dispatch building where it will then finally be delivered here. To them taking 4-5 days to deliver 2nd day shipping is no biggie, even though you paid the outrageous price to have it shipped 2nd day. However if you shipped ground, they would just boot it along, and it would take a week. How I hate shipping companies.

In the mean time, even though the machine is coming with a manual, I finally was able to download the manual. It was stored online at Scribed, but they have changed their policies, and even though it was put online to share with the passap community, Scribed wants money, or no download.

A lovely thing I found out last night, while surfing on my iPad, is that if there is any pdf.s at all on any site, it automatically downloads the pdf and only the pdf. the website where the pdf was being held hostage, didn’t even load. I was ready to kiss my iPad. I was getting all upset, when I just had to do was my usual before surf, and research.

Finally success, and I have decided while I have the life of this website to store the PDF of the Manual for the Passap Duomatic 80 so that others may have access to the manual with which to operate their machine. Just to keep the opportunistic vultures at bay. ;)

I also have the maintenance book coming to me, so I will be able to post that one as well. After I scan it to me that is. My goal is to make Passap proficiency more attainable to more people.

More pictures when I finally have my hands on it.
